The Fluvial Architecture
Knowledge Transfer System (FAKTS) is a major FRG initiative based on the
development of a relational database for fluvial systems and preserved
successions. One key deliverable of the FAKTS system is the probabilistic
determination of vertical and lateral transitions between facies, facies
associations and larger architectural elements within a range of fluvial system
types. Results can be filtered in a sophisticated manner, for example according
to sediment supply type, climatic setting or basin type.
