Because our regular schedule of in-person sponsor update meetings has been disrupted, we plan to run a Leeds-hosted Microsoft Teams meeting in mid-January 2021. 2.00–4.30 pm GMT, Tuesday 12th Jan & 8.00–10.30 am GMT, Wednesday 13th Jan.
Because our
regular schedule of in-person sponsor update meetings has been disrupted, we
plan to run a Leeds-hosted Microsoft Teams meeting in mid-January 2021. We will
run the meeting twice (i.e. same sessions repeated) as two c.
two-and-a-half-hour sessions. Meeting 1: 2.00
pm – 4.30 pm GMT, Tuesday 12th January 2021
Meeting 2: 8.00
am – 10.30 am GMT, Wednesday 13th January 2021
Key contacts
in sponsor companies have been sent the joining instructions for the meetings. Alternatively,
if you are an employee of a sponsor company and would like to attend one or
both meetings but require the joining instructions, simply contact Nigel Mountney
(n.p.mountney@leeds.ac.uk).
In advance of
the meetings, we will prepare a series of webinar-style presentations, each c.
20-minutes in duration. These will provide succinct summaries of the many
research projects that we currently have ongoing and that have recently been
completed. We will upload these webinar-style presentations to the FRG-ERG-SMRG
website by Thursday 7th January to allow sponsors to familiarize themselves
with our recent research activities. In the meeting
itself, we will provide the following:
(i) an overview of what we have achieved in
Phase 4 of the JIP;
(ii) a summary of our flagship sedimentary
architectural databasing and numerical modelling research initiatives;
(iii) a summary of how our novel and innovative
research methods and results can be applied for improved subsurface
characterization in reservoir successions of fluvial, aeolian, paralic and
shallow-marine origin;
(iv) a summary of the various knowledge
transfer initiatives that are available to sponsors;
(v) an overview of our planned research for
FRG-ERG-SMRG Phase 5;
(vi) an open discussion of how we are
embracing initiatives for low-carbon subsurface energy solutions, including
shallow and deep geothermal, CCS and hydrogen storage.
We will be keen
to invite questions and discussion. A full schedule for the meeting will be
finalized in very early January. We appreciate that the meeting timings may not
suit all, so we will record the sessions for later perusal, if desired.
