Congratulations to Marta who has successfully defended her PhD thesis at her viva voce examination at the University of Padova, Italy.

Marta’s thesis is entitled “Stratal patterns and sedimentary facies in tidal point bars”.

Marta worked with members of FRG-ERG during a visit to Leeds from October to December 2018. Marta is based in the Department of Geology at the University of Padova, Italy, where she works with Massimiliano Ghinassi. Marta has expertise in the sedimentology of tidally influenced point bars and their deposits. She has worked in detail on those in the Venice Lagoon, for which she used the FRG PB-SAND forward stratigraphic modelling software to predict trajectories of bar climb and aggradation.
