to Mahmud who has successfully defended his PhD thesis at
his viva voce examination at the University of Leeds. Mahmud’s thesis is entitled “Modern and Ancient
Fluvial-Aeolian Interactions in Dune-Field Margin Systems: Analysis and
Implications”. Mahmud was funded by Saudi Aramco, so thank you to them for
