Studying with FRG-ERG

Much of the FRG-ERG research programme is conducted through PhD studentships, most of which are based in Leeds, though some are alternatively based at the institutions of Associate Members. Research studentships are supervised by combinations of Leeds-based staff and external co-workers. We typically start two studentships per year.

Current PhD opportunities

Although we do not currently have funded PhD studentships on offer, please feel free to get in touch at any time if you think that you have a research project idea that falls within the remit of the group that you would like to pursue.

We will be advertising funded PhD research projects here in the future.

Funding Options

There is a range of PhD studentship funding options:

  • Fully FRG-ERG funded
  • Part FRG-ERG and part industry-funded
  • Fully industry funded
  • Research council funded
  • Self funded
  • Scholarship funded - Leeds. The University has separate scholarship schemes for UK/EU students, and also "international" (non EU) students
  • Scholarship funded - non-Leeds.

The research themes would typically fall under one of the categories listed on the "Current Activities" page.

Please get in touch if you are interested in coming to work with us!
